OFFICIAL RULES FOR 2008 LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT

  • Run rules are 10 after 4 innings or 8 after 5 innings
  • All  games are 6 innings unless run rule or time limit is in effect. FOR 12u.  13U games are 7 innings unless run rule or time limit.
  • Pitching limits are 10 innings for 12u AND 12 innings FOR 13U.
  • Home team is determined by coin toss in a pool play games. Higher seed has choice in playoffs. ( coin toss for same seeds)
  • Please help shag balls on your side and switch off for behind home plate. Each game will have 3 balls supplied and NO MORE. Damaged balls will be replaced.
  • Time limits are as follows, NO NEW INNING after1 hr. 50 for 13U & 12U. 13U can not stall for cleat changes!
  • NO SEEDS, GUM, OR METAL CLEATS ON OR AROUND TURF FIELDS
  • NO METAL CLEATS ON PITCHING MOUND AT 13U
  • Big barrel bats are fine for 12Uand 13U.
  • Bat 10 or your roster with open substitutions. If a player is injured and can no longer play, it is not an out when his spot comes up in the order( If batting the roster)
  • Courtesy runners for pitchers and catchers only. If batting roster must be last person to hit at that point. If you are not batting the roster it can only be a courtesy runner that is on the bench and not in the game at the time.
  • Tiebreakers are as follow: 1)Head to head 2) Least runs allowed 3) Run differential 4) If tie still exists between two teams, revert to head-tohead5) International tie-breaker
  • Games ending due to time limit that are tied will remain as a tie (In pool play). Games tied after 6 innings with time remaining will be played out. In playoff rounds, games tied after 8 innings or 2 hours 10 min. will go to international tie breaker, including semi’s and championship.
  • Last games of the night will still use time limit and tie rules.
  • Trophies are awarded for first and second place. Champions will also receive T-Shirts
  • Run rules remains for playoff and championship.
  • NO HEAD FIRST SLIDING IN 12U(If player is in a rundown, it is the umpires judgement if he goes back into the base head first)
  • USSSA rules and starter can re-enter, & pitchers can pitch in three consecutive days.

 

WE WILL HAND OUT RULES AND PITCHING CHARTS AT THE TOURNEY BEFORE YOUR FIRST GAME. IF I HAVE LEFT ANYTHING OFF THIS LIST PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL ADD THEM TONIGHT.
